Back to the future day!! I’m sure many enthusiasts are more giddy about today than I will be this Sunday for the Manchester Derby, and I am already massively giddy!

If we could go back to today in thirty years, what and why would we go back and change? Amend decisions we had taken? Voice opinions we had had? Hold that thought we had said out loud? If only we had hindsight! And a time machine! Yet thank god, physics does not allow us to do that, because there are about 5%* of greedy, selfish, manipulative arseholes in every country who would all abuse the device to give themselves fame, power and money.
(*that statistic was made up on the spot, but roughly based on brief conversations had with many different people each and every day)
But us guys….the 95%…..the bloody nice people of the world I have the absolute pleasure of meeting everyday….wouldn’t the rest of us want to change things to enable a much fairer and just world….where people from every background has access to water, medical care and a welfare system for genuine times in need? Forget skin colour, ideal religion, family traditions, work ethic, moral beliefs……just water, medicine, and care, especially for the young and elderly. Can we all not stop life for one day and use the one thing that has taken our species this far….our fucking intellect. Can’t we combine to create a working system that allows this? Doesn’t each and every nation on this planet deserve the opportunity to live? To become the next doctor, next scientist, next revolutionist? Poor Arron Swartz was only trying to give educational material to the people, regardless of opportunity. A book. We need to push hard and educate harder and make use of this opportunity we have. (Reading this alone means you have privilege.)
We all take opportunity for granted, so it is very hard to see the people in REAL need, not us with our broken phone screens and well worn nikes. We can change. We are changing. Change….it is there, just beyond our reach, not beyond our sight. What a lyric Fat Freddie! Our future is here….now…we are back to the future!

Fucking politics. Why is it so complicated?! My next book will be about politics…any suggestions guys?x

I’ve just watched a documentary that has truly inspired me to start a more focused approach on this whole Chews Freedom idea. Yeah, I’ve stated that this is more a way for me to document my travels and write my thoughts down to look back on in a few years, but now it’s more than that. The flame has been rekindled. Please watch this very sad, yet inspirational documentary. Not even a million people have watched this film….and if you are wondering why you haven’t seen it in Blockbuster, you really need to watch it. 

It is a worrying insight into the dirty corruption that takes place in this current system, whilst highlighting the fact that change can happen. Such a loving, caring, creative and intelligent human being, wanting solely for what was good for the world, for mankind. Any further conspiracy about his death could be a discussion point in its own right, but let’s look at the bigger picture; his dream. The freedom that currently belongs to such a small minority, and could easily be shared and spread worldwide thousands of times over, all in the name of goodness, not profit. I  was just checking my emails and saw this shit….

 

LOOK!! We are getting 20% off our parking…….fucking parking…on a huge slab of concrete that takes such little maintenance and security, yet we pay such an extortionate amount of money to use this facility. How priveledged we are to be afforded a twenty percent discount! Everywhere I go, even in the poorer contries, capitalism has its evil clutches dug deep. Sometimes I feel I have to explain myself to the locals; that it isn’t us white folk fucking them over…..I’m in the same boat as them (albeit a slightly more comfortable boat)….it’s the rich folk that are fucking us over.

Rant over, but please check out that film…..let us start to use this networking system….complexly intergrated with all us human being, all our nationalities, cultures, religions…and realise where our battle actually is, and with whom we are pitting our anger.

I write this Post not having eaten any form of meat or fish for 6 days. Tomorrow will be 7….a full week man. And it was easy. Much easier than I expected, especially considering we had a BBQ for 24 people last nIght and three rare, fat, juicy tenderloin steaks, garlic chicken breasts and red wine sausages, that were calling my name all evening. When I left the UK to work in a Mexican school located off the tourist route, I naively assumed that I would be fluent in 6 months. Armed to the teeth with books, dictionaries, verb lists, audio tracks, apps and a whole list of internet sites, I was more than prepared for the challenge. I have wanted to learn a language for a long time; listening to my European friends skit from one language to another was so impressive.
